Soccer

Soccer, also known as football in many parts of the world, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by maneuvering a ball into the opposing team’s net using any part of the body except the arms and hands (goalkeepers are allowed to use their hands within the penalty area). The sport is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with goals at each end.

Soccer is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The game is played in two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with a halftime break. It is one of the most popular sports globally, with millions of fans and players, and is organized at various levels, from grassroots to professional leagues and international competitions, including the FIFA World Cup. Soccer emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and skill, making it a dynamic and engaging sport for participants and spectators alike.
