Boxing

Boxing is a combat sport in which two participants, usually wearing protective gloves and other gear, engage in a contest of strength, speed, and strategy by throwing punches at one another while attempting to avoid being hit. The sport is typically conducted in a boxing ring and is governed by a set of rules that outline legal and illegal moves, scoring methods, and acceptable conduct. Matches can be won by knockouts, technical knockouts, or points, depending on the scoring system in use. Boxing is both a professional sport with regulated bouts and a recreational activity for fitness and self-defense.
